PTA CCBC Friends

Welcome to the PTA page. CCBC Friends has a Facebook page where you can find all the up to date information on fundraising meetings and events @CommunityCollegePTA like our page to keep up to date with our activities. We also have a notice board just inside the main school entrance with posters of forthcoming events and meetings.

The PTA meets once every half term – the date is always publicised in the College News and on our Facebook page. Everybody is welcome. Senior staff members attend these meetings and we are given an update on school issues and have the opportunity to ask questions in an informal environment.  It is also a way of meeting other parents and hopefully having some fundraising valuable funds that benefit all our children.

In the PTA everyone does what they can, when they can, in whatever way. This might be helping to organise an event, volunteering your time to support events, making cakes or contributing prizes or simply attending the meetings and contributing your ideas. The PTA works closely with the school and raises much needed funds for the Community College – your involvement can really make a difference.

Getting involved in the PTA need not be an arduous task. All parent/carers of a student at the college are automatically members of the PTA. We recently changed the constitution to become a friends of the school association so that we could welcome ex parents, pupils and people from the community to join us so now anyone over 18 who wishes to offer support the school can be nominated by parents or staff to become members of the PTA if accepted by the committee.

Fundraising

The PTA fundraises in a number of different ways: through the annual ‘Gift Aid Day’, raffles and events such as the Christmas Fair and online via Easyfundraising.

How does it work?

You shop directly with the retailer as you would normally, but first you sign up to Bishop's Castle Community College PThttps://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/bishopscastleccpta/?q=The%20Community%20college%20&cat=cause-autosuggestClick the 'Join Us' button and create your account and use the links on the Easyfundraising site to take you to the retailer, then a percentage of whatever you spend comes directly to us at no extra cost to yourself.

To ensure you don't miss out on any donations to the PTA you can also download a Donation Reminder which will work when you search on the internet.  To enable this tool, click on the following link https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/donation-reminder/ login to your Easyfundraising account click on the 'Get the Donation Reminder' button and start shopping.

How much can you raise?

Spend £100 with M&S online or Amazon and you raise £2.50 for us.  £100 with WH Smith puts £2.00 in our pocket and so on.  There’s over 2,000 retailers on their site, and some of the donations can be as much as 15% of your purchase.
